Founded in 1995, the VCEMS promotes and develops alliances among industry, government, and academia to study the relationship of environmental policy to business management and operations. The Center is a Vanderbilt University system-wide initiative jointly led by the School of Engineering, Owen Graduate School of Management, and the Law School. It is directed by Dr. Mark Cohen of Owen Graduate School of Management and Dr. Mark Abkowitz from the Vanderbilt School of Engineering. Funded by corporate sponsors and outside research grants, the Center focuses on curriculum development, student scholarships, academic research projects, executive education, and leadership summits.
