During the 2010-2011 academic year, graduate school tuition, fees, and health insurance will be approximately $40,000 per year for a full-time course load. Living expenses for a single person (including room and board, books, supplies, and personal expenses) are estimated at $15,000 for the year.
Each accepted PhD in Management applicant is awarded a four-year fellowship. The fellowship covers full tuition, health insurance, activity and recreation fees and a stipend for living expenses. In 2009-2010, the stipend is $20,500 plus the tuition waiver. Fellowship recipients are expected to spend an average of 12 hours per week working with faculty as research/teaching assistants or collaborators.
Exceptional candidates may be awarded additional fellowships from the Graduate School of Vanderbilt University in amounts ranging from $6,000 to $10,000 per year. Beyond fellowships, financial support for doctoral student research activities, such as to fund enhancements to dissertation research or for travel to professional meetings, are available from the Graduate School of Vanderbilt University, the Owen PhD Program, and other sources.
