Alumni in SeoulFeb 21, 2012 | In February, 35 alumni from Vanderbilt’s Law School, Owen Graduate School of Management and Peabody, Undergraduate studies gathered in Seoul Korea for their annual Alumni Meeting. Jerry Jang, MBA 2004 played MC for the evening, during which a new chairman for the group was honored, Huh Yong-Suk is currently CEO of the Samil Economic Research Institute and plans were laid for future get-togethers in the spring and fall. Also, Dr. Kim Young-II, imparted some of his wisdom to the group. |
Women in Business SymposiumFeb 17, 2012 | On February 17th, 2012, Owen welcomed over 25 female prospective MBA, MSF and MAcc students to campus. The prospective students and more than 28 Owen community members and current students enjoyed a beautiful lunch at Fleming’s to kick off the Women in Business Symposium. The Women in Business Symposium is specifically targeted to prospective female applicants and those who strongly support the advancement of women in the workplace. The Symposium helps candidates learn about student life at Owen and in Nashville, how to prepare a competitive application, and the challenges facing women in business. |
Discover Weekend TwoFeb 17, 2012 | At Discover Weekend, perspective students enjoyed faculty presentations, student and alumni panel discussions, a career management presentation, an admissions and financial aid workshop, campus tours and social events. They were also given an opportunity to explore the city, look for housing and exercise at Vanderbilt’s Student Recreation Center. |

Vanderbilt Health Care Conference and Career FairOct 28, 2011 | Over 500 attendees, a conference record, joined us for a tremendous line up of speakers and panels and were able to interact with 35 companies at the career fair portion of the conference. We hoped that the day would allow for a genuine dialogue about the many challenges facing the healthcare industry today, and judging from the quality of the questions posed to the speakers and the many huddled groups in the foyer, that level of engagement was achieved. |

Students gained additional insight regarding working on Wall Street from Owen and Vanderbilt alums who attended the informational meetings and joined Dean Bradford for the annual reception. |

Executive Programs Partner Day 2011Oct 8, 2011 | Each year the Executive students partners and families are invited to join them on a class day. This year EMBA partners were invited to complete the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument that was part of their EMBA student’s week-in-residence experience. The day also featured an alumni panel with partners who made it through the two year EMBA program and described how they managed their lives at home. Families joined us for an outdoor fiesta with piñata and balloon artist to complete the day. |

100% Owen Signature Chef EventOct 25, 2010 | 100% Owen volunteers supported the March of Dimes at the Nashville Signature Chefs Auction on Monday, October 25th. The event featured chefs from some of Nashville’s finest restaurants, presenting their signature dishes in miniature throughout the event. Students volunteered at the registration table, silent auction, and as spotters for the live auction, all helping to support healthy babies in Middle Tennessee. |
Parents WeekendOct 23, 2010 | Parents of Owen students came into town starting Thursday, October 21 to celebrate the first official "Parents Weekend" at Owen. The event coincided with Homecoming weekend for Vanderbilt. Parents enjoyed a special Thursday social, sponsored by the Global Business Association, which was titled Owentoberfest in honor of Oktoberfest. In addition, parents were encouraged to attend a speaker series and meet faculty on Friday during the day. Saturday's tailgate, sponsored by the Owen Culinary Society, was a great prelude for the Vanderbilt football game. |
Japan TripOct 11, 2010 | A group of 35 students participated in the Global Business Association Immersion Trip in Japan over Fall Break 2010. Cities visited included Tokyo, Osaka, Hakone, Kyoto, Kobe and Hiroshima. Professor Parsley, Dean Bradford and Japanese Owen alumni also joined students on the trip, and participated in company trips that included Nissan, Sharp, Microsoft, Kirin, Gekkeikan, JFE, Terumo, Tokyo Stock Exchange and SECOM. |
