Power and Influence in Organizations

Course Description:
Explores issues of power, powerlessness, influence, conflict, and dissent within and between various types of organizations. Through readings, case studies, and discussions, we examine how power is gained, maintained, used, abused, and lost in the pursuit of interpersonal and organizational objectives. Also examines social issues at the intersection of business and society that may be analyzed in terms of power and influence, such as workplace rights, wealth distribution, and sexual and racial politics.
